Your day on the lake
Your guide picks you up at your hotel and drives you to the marina, sharing the story of the lake and the desert along the way. There you meet your captain, get a quick safety briefing and head out onto the water.
From there the day is yours to shape. Most groups cruise the open water, guide the boat into the quieter canyons and coves along the shoreline, and take in the views toward the Hoover Dam area. The captain then anchors somewhere calm so you can swim, float or just relax in the sun. After the return cruise, you’re driven back to Las Vegas.
Why book it
Lake Mead is the largest reservoir in the United States, and it sits less than an hour from the Strip. A private boat lets you set the pace, skip the crowds and choose how much of the day is exploring versus swimming. Because the group is private, it works well for birthdays, friends’ getaways, couples, and visitors who want a break from the Strip.
What to bring
Swimsuit and towel, sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat, snacks or a light lunch, drinks (BYOB is welcome), and a waterproof phone pouch or camera. The cooler and ice are provided.
